Another manga by Mashima Hiro, Monster Hunter Orage is a mangafied version of the popular Monster Hunter series of games by Capcom.

Shiki and Irie
The story follows Shiki, a Forbidden Hunter, as he searches for the legendary wyvern Miogaruna. He is an orphan trained by a Monster Hunter named Gurelli, who dies due to a gunpowder accident. Shiki inherits twin blades from his Master said to be made from materials obtained from the Miogaruna itself.
Shiki ends up in the town where his master resided to join the Hunter’s Guild there, and through a series of events finds Irie, his master’s daughter. Together they set out to find the Miogaruna.
Thus far 6 chapters are out. Shiki is shown to be the typical foolish-yet-skilled protagonist as seen by his use of dual swords. In the first few chapters Irie is seen to be rather cold, disliking the thought of having nakama(and Shiki’s constant proclamations of them being nakama). Later the reason for her dislike is revealed; she was betrayed by people she thought of as nakama, and henceforth never trusted anyone.
They also meet Sakuya, the daughter of a skilled blacksmith who joins them in their hunt. She is also skilled herself, constructing a bowgun from materials in a Deromaisu wyvern’s cave in the midst of a battle.
The three of them form a team and are looking for a blacksmith, and also to go after the Miogaruna.
Its somewhere along the lines of Fairy Tail. The story progresses with lots of funny happenings, and a similar emphasis on friendship and trust. Read it if you liked Fairy Tail, or are a fan of the MH series.
